Well at Chok Roka, remote village school

Background

The schools are located in rural areas, in remote villages in the northwest of Cambodia, lacking any kind of infrastructure. In the rainy season they are practically incommunicado and in the dry season they have difficult access to water. The children are in charge of bringing water to their homes, which prevents them from attending school.

Objectives

The main objective has been to provide access to clean water through the construction of a well at the school in the remote village of Chok Roka,

In this region there is a lot of school absenteeism, since the children are in charge of carrying water to their homes. With the construction of this well, the problem has been alleviated.

Milestones

This project has ensured that, to date, 500 people have access to drinking water.
