A water catchment system in Bengbis, Cameroon


Background
The Baka population in Cameroon lives mainly in the department of Dja et Lobo, in the south of the country, where they constitute an ethnic minority. They are the first settlers of the Central African forest zones, their historical process has passed on the margin of the policies of their countries. They are currently unrepresented in social life, and are almost completely excluded from community organization and the basic services it offers.

Objectives
The project consists of providing an infrastructure for the supply of drinking water. This infrastructure consists of the following elements, a brief breakdown of which is given below:

1) Collection of water from a nearby spring.

2) Installation of a pump for water extraction.

3) Construction of a water tower that will house a tank with a capacity of 4,000 liters.

Milestones

This project will provide 2,500 people with access to drinking water.
