Rehabilitation of a warehouse at St. Rosaire Hospital, Cameroon

At Auara, we are working to combat the greatest form of poverty there is: the lack of clean drinking water.

CONTEXT

The population of Mbalmayo is mostly agricultural, but there is also a lot of small commerce. The town has schools, which means that activity in the surrounding area is high. The surrounding area is a rural jungle zone, with poor communications and little access to public services. The center has a social exchange to be able to attend to people who do not have financial resources to pay for it (in Cameroon health care is always paid for).

OBJECTIVES

The hospital has a well and the necessary infrastructure to use it, but the system has deteriorated, making it necessary to install a new water tank and upgrade the plumbing.

The environmental impact is under control, as the main construction work has been completed (well and water tower). Fundación Recover has been working with this hospital for the past six years, and we can attest to its work and commitment.

MILESTONES

This project has ensured that, to date, 2,500 people have access to drinking water.
