Rehabilitation of 4 wells in environmental center (Madagascar)

Background

As a result of climate change and lack of water resources, the
prevention and containment policies, the south of the country is undergoing an unprecedented crisis that has paralyzed the
agricultural production and has left entire communities without food.

There have been four consecutive years of droughts, each one worse than the last. Last October's growing season saw 50% less rainfall than usual. As a result, less than half of what is needed to feed the entire population is expected to be harvested in the coming months.

Objectives

To drill a borehole at the Mangily Educational and Environmental Center to combat the lack of drinking water and contribute to the development of the beneficiaries, especially children, and to the autonomy of the center.

The activities to be performed are:

  • Re-drilling of 3 wells to increase depth by at least 2 meters.
  • Detection and repair of leaks in the water distribution network.
  • Review and resizing of distribution circuits.
