REHABILITATION OF 3 ORCHARDS IN CHAKUNDA, GAMBIA

Background

The project begins with the construction of a well to obtain water for irrigation as well as for the company's own consumption.

The land is then marked and the enclosure is fenced to prevent the entry of animals.

Currently, the main need is the reconstruction of the orchard fences that are in poor condition. The first fences were made of logs and wire, so they have little consistency and collapse during the rainy season. In the absence of protection, animals enter the orchards and destroy the crops.

Objectives

Our main objective is the reconstruction of the fences of the orchards, it is difficult to raise the money necessary to cover these needs.

The fences of these orchards, which cover an area of 8 hectares, need to be rebuilt and reinforced. Concrete pillars will be built every 30 meters. A topographer will be contacted who will advise Xavi to make some ditches and drains around the fences to protect them from future floods.
