Gberia well rehabilitation

Background

Sierra Leone is one of the poorest countries on earth. The Ebola epidemic has made the situation worse, leaving thousands of orphans across the country, crippling economic activity and closing schools to be used as boarding schools. Education centres have been left in a dilapidated state, without roofs or doors. Nor are
they can use the latrines or the wells.

Objectives

Gberia Timbako's school is in the north of the country, considered the least developed area of the country. Three new classrooms have been built to teach the students. In addition, three latrines have been built. The rehabilitation of the well has made it possible to provide drinking water to the students of the school and to the population of the area.

Milestones

This project has achieved that, to date, 331 people have access to drinking water
