Well at Buvuma School, Kachwampa, Uganda

Background
In Buvuma Primary School there is no well, not even in the nearby community, they are forced to go to an unprotected well where they fetch the water used in the school. There have been frequent outbreaks of water-related diseases such as diarrhea, dysentery, typhoid fevers, hepatitis A, among others, due to poor sanitation and hygiene conditions. Those (school children) who survive are often unable to learn in school or succeed in life due to the legacy of poor health caused by diseases transmitted by unsanitary water.

Objectives
This project aims to establish a sustainable drinking water supply point at the Buvuma Primary School, built by the Queen of Peace Parish-Namaliga Catholic Church in the village of Buvuma. Currently this school in Buvuma has more than 400 primary school students.
This project will be implemented by "Aziro Care Uganda", and will then be handed over to the beneficiaries. The management of the
school and the community will be fully involved in the implementation of the project.

Milestones

This project has ensured that, to date, 1,211 people have access to drinking water.
