The region of Tamil Nadu, in the east of the subcontinent, has been suffering from a terrible drought for decades. In addition to this problem, the water on the surface or at a depth of a few meters is contaminated by fertilizers used in agriculture. In addition to all this, there are deficient and outdated public services for both water and sanitation.
Due to the situation, the purpose of the project is to provide safe water to the residents of Our Lady of Refugee Parish in Vayalogan through the drilling of a new well.
In order to be able to store water for distribution to the different taps installed in the parish, a 1,000-liter tank was purchased to receive water from the well thanks to the installation of a submersible pump.
This project has been carried out so that a total of 830 people have access to clean water.
