Water and sanitation in schools and shelters

Background

In rural areas, the effects of climate change are devastating. The main consequence is that water tables are falling, causing wells to be rehabilitated so that they can continue to provide water. Meanwhile, access to adequate sanitation in schools is essential for children to acquire good hygiene habits.

On the other hand, in urban areas there is a water supply network that, although it has its stops, provides water. The problem in this scenario is the quality of the water, it is not fit for consumption.

Objectives

The rehabilitation of a well that provides water to primary and secondary schools, as well as a day center for the disabled through the deepening of the well and the purchase of a generator to extract water for the benefit of 761 people. The lidys houses, which are located in the town of Battamabang itself, accommodate school-age children with socioeconomic problems.

The construction of two water purifiers allows 45 students to have access to safe drinking water whenever they need it.
