10 water collection tanks in Ducrabon, Haiti

Background

The Congrégation des Petits Frères de Sainte Thérèse is indigenous and was founded in 1960 with the mission to reach all the most remote rural areas of the country where there is no state presence, no health workers and no basic infrastructure.

Ducrabon is the village that attracts most of the population because of the religious center, the school of the friars, the beginning of the hospital, the mill, the bread factory in the process of being repaired, etc.

Objectives

The project aims to purchase and install 10 1,000-gallon (3,700-liter) PVC tanks that will store rainwater collected from the roofs. This water will be used to supply the community, a hospital and a school.

Milestones

This project has provided 122 families living near the center with access to drinking water.
